This  is  a human male karyotype, prepared from a diploid somatic cell
   in  metaphase.  All  but  the  X  and  Y  chromosomes  are  present in
   homologous  pairs. Each chromosome is a double structure, constituting
   a pair of sister chromatids joined by a common centromere.
