Many eukaryotic promoters contain CAAT and GC boxes.
   The  CAAT  box  contains the sequence CAAT or CCAAT and the GC box has
   the sequence GGGCGG.
   These  elements bind transcription factors and act to enhance the rate
   of transcription.
